Optimal Breast Milk Storage Bags are stored in a freezer or in a refrigerator. If stored in a freezer, thaw frozen milk in the refrigerator and pour milk carefelly into a feeding bottle for warming up. If stored in a refrigerator, pour milk carefully into a feeding bottle for warming up. Leave some room at the top of the storage bag to allow for expansion when milk freezes. Label milk with the date and time it was expected and always use the oldest stock first. Avoid using a microwave oven to thaw or heat bottles of breast milk. Discard any leftover milk and do not refreeze thawed milk. Always test the temperature of milk before feeding the baby. For hygiene purpose, only tear the tap immediately before filling and safety discard it.
